JustLogbook Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device while you browse. They are used to remember information about your visit, such as your chosen language or whether you are signed in, and to make the site work properly.
2. What types of cookies do we use?
JustLogbook uses two types of cookies:
a) Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
These are essential for the site to work: keeping you signed in, protecting forms and remembering your language. Without them we could not provide the service, which is why the law does not require your consent for them.
b) Analytics cookies (your consent required)
They let us see how the site is used in aggregate: most visited pages, errors and performance. They only run if you accept them, they are not used to show you advertising and we do not build commercial profiles with them.
3. Which cookies do we use?
Below are the cookies used on this website:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Owner | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Technical | Manage the user's sign-in session (NextAuth) | JustLogbook (first-party) | 30 days |
| authjs.csrf-token | Technical | Protect the sign-in form against CSRF attacks (NextAuth) | JustLogbook (first-party) | Session |
| authjs.callback-url | Technical | Remember where to redirect the user after signing in (NextAuth) | JustLogbook (first-party) | Session |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Technical | Remember the user's preferred language (Spanish/English) | JustLogbook (first-party) | 1 year |
| _ga / _ga_* | Analytics | Distinguish users to generate usage statistics | Google Analytics | 2 years |
| _dd_s | Analytics | Group events from the same user session | Datadog RUM | 15 minutes |
4. Local storage
In addition to cookies, JustLogbook stores some preferences in the browser's local storage (localStorage), which is not sent to the server with every request like cookies are:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| justlogbook-cookie-consent | Store the user's decision about analytics cookies | 1 year |
| theme | Remember the light/dark theme preference | Indefinite (until the user clears it) |
5. How we manage your consent
Cookie consent in JustLogbook works like this:
- Prior consent: analytics cookies do not run until you accept them. Until you decide, only the necessary ones work.
- Accepting and rejecting are equally easy: the notice offers both options at the same level and with the same prominence. If you reject, no analytics cookie is installed.
- You can change your mind: withdraw or change your decision at any time from «Cookie settings» in the footer or with the button at the end of this page.
- Where your decision is stored: in your browser's local storage (localStorage), not in a cookie.
Your decision is kept for 1 year. After that we will ask you again.
6. How consent is given and withdrawn
The first time you visit, we show a notice explaining what we use cookies for and letting you accept or reject analytics with a single click. Until you choose, no analytics cookie is activated.
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: open «Cookie settings» from the footer or press the button at the end of this page and change your decision.
7. How to delete or block cookies in your browser
You can also set your browser to allow, block or delete the cookies already installed. Here are the instructions for the most common browsers:
Bear in mind that blocking necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or stop parts of the platform from working properly.
8. Changes to this cookie policy
We may update this policy if the cookies we use or the applicable rules change. The current version is always published on this page with its update date.
